HCA recognizes the diversity of learning styles, educational levels, and personal interests of our students. Skill groups, hands-on activities, performing arts, and recreational opportunities give children an environment which stimulates learning.

In our commitment to educate a generation, it is imperative that we keep biblical truth at the center of all knowledge. For that reason HCA has chosen and currently uses the A Beka curriculum .

HCA currently uses the A Beka curriculum. The A Beka program has proven to be a blend of excellence in academics and is built on Biblical truth. Statistics show that every student that has been taught under this program has excelled above students of the same age and grade in the public schools. This curriculum is phonics based which is essential for reading and sounding out words. It also introduces the art of cursive writing in preschool. Lastly, every textbook has been written from a Christian perspective.

We encourage and expect every child to work to their maximum potential. Philippians 4:13 says that “we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us”, and we live and walk by the Word of God.

Preparing Students for Success in Life!

HCA has an outstanding Kindergarten reading program. It provides a great foundation for the future. Five-year-old students learn to recognize and write (cursive and manuscript) the letters of the alphabet along with their sounds and within 4 months actually begin reading. Besides reading, your child will learn to count by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s to 100 and recognize the numbers before and after, along with other arithmetic facts. Children also develop valuable habits and social skills through daily experience and interaction. Even four-year-olds learn to read in our enjoyable program. The K-4 program provides a portion of the regular K-5 program, on a four-year-old level. Beginning with letters and sounds, students progress to reading words, sentences, and stories in their own reading books. They then take the books home to enjoy reading over and over again.

HCA’s students consistently score higher than the national average on standardized achievement tests. HCA’s outstanding reading program has a strong, systematic phonetic approach. It builds independent, confident reading. By the third grade, students can read basically any material chosen. Even lower ability students learn to read successfully. Additional academic pursuits include language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
